Life couldn't get any better right now.
I received $2,000 from the NNMAC (Northern New Mexico Art Catalogue) for excellence in the art of photography.
My Image "The Stone Garden" was selected as Photo of the Day on EarthShots.Org -

I'm going to Las Vegas this Friday - & Going to San Francisco in November.
I have a very high possibility of getting published in local newspapers and magazines after getting interviewed from the NNMAC. Here is the article:
Justin Jew is a 16 year old sophomore attending Manzano High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Justin began his love of photography only a few years ago, at the age of 13. He grabbed a camera to capture the most beautiful scenes of a snow storm near his home. Justin's favorite form of photography is landscape. This makes sense as he loves the outdoors, hiking, and nature. He exclaims that "What God has created is amazing to my eyes, there is no other artist better than him."
Justin is blessed to have tremendous influences in his life. His father, Kim Jew has been a successful photographer for 33 years and has encouraged his son to pursue all aspects of study and life. This can be seen in Justin's love of sports and his desire to go into medicine or the world of business. But Justin knows for sure that he will always follow his passion for photography.
Another influence for Justin Jew is the noted nature photographer, Marc Adamus, from Oregon. Justin is familiar with the work of Adamus through the internet and would one day be interested to meet this fine photographer. He admires his dramatic, vibrant, bold, dynamic North American landscape images.
Justin took the courage to contact Adamus to let him know what an inspiration his work has been. Adamus was kind enough to respond to Justin with great appreciation. Justin hopes one day to take one of Adamus' photographic workshops.
Many of Justin's photos have been created on location, patiently waiting for a sunrise or sunset to transform the land - capturing the perfect diffused light. He works with a tripod and filters. He loves incorporating multiple colors, tones, texture, patterns, depth, and interesting foreground subjects to compliment his work. Justin spends countless hours reading photographic magazines and internet articles while studying the styles of other great landscape photographers. His camera of choice is a Canon EOS-1DS.
Justin prefers to capture his images as close to what enters his eyes and his camera as possible. But he is equally at home fine tuning, adjusting contrasts, colors, tonalities, and luminosity in Photoshop.
At the tender and young age of 16, Justin has been hired to professionally photograph architecture for Ethos Custom Homes, a home building company in the East Mountains of Albuquerque.
Justin may like to pursue a career in medicine or business. But his dream job is to become a National Geographic Photographer. When asked if he would like to study photography in college, Justin's fine response was, "I don't need to, I already have the best teacher in the world, my father." I really enjoy learning the ropes from him.
Whether Justin becomes a doctor or a successful businessman, he will certainly continue his love and practice of photography where ever he lives.
Weight lifting, Longboarding, & Web Design are also some of his pursuits. He enjoys quality time with his friends and family of 6 whom he clearly adores and admires. His older brothers are a great inspiration to him as well.
There is no doubt that Justin Jew will be successful in any career he chooses. Let's just hope that he continues to press the shutter on his camera!
